I was surprised how much I like Coronado Springs. Sorry for the sideward pictures I couldn't figure out how to turn them. Coronado Springs is a very large resort, but a beautiful resort. I had a room in the Casitas section which is close to the food court and main lobby. I took a walk around the entire resort and found each section had it's benefits. The Ranchos and Cabanas are close to the Dig Site, this is where the big pool is with a slide coming out of a pyramid. You can also get food and drinks at the Siesta Cantina. Each section has it own private pool and access to the a bus stop. Casitas is closest to the restaurants, lobby and convention center. During my walk I thought it was peaceful and the grounds are nicely landscaped..I enjoyed sitting by the Lago Dorado with a cup of coffee looking in the water, you could see turtle and large fish.
The new Art of Animation Lion King Suite; What a great time! We arrived at the Art of Animation Lion King only one week after it opened and we're the first to stay in our suite. oh yeah!!! There was only 3 of us, so of course, there was so much room. The girls slept in the bedroom with a queen bed and I slept on the sofa which opened up to a full size bed. We never used the Murphy bed, but we did pull it down and lie on it to test it out. It was very easy to open and the bed itself was very comfortable. The bathrooms were nicely decorated and I loved having two bathrooms, especially when getting ready. Our room was very close to the pool and the food court, I believe one of the closest rooms. The girls used the big blue pool at finding nemo every night and loved to listen to the music under water. The food court was very big, had a great selection of food, and it never felt crowded. The ink and paint shop, inside animation hall, had a large selection of gifts and supplies, we would walk through it every time we went to the bus stop. The cast members were always very animated and interactive. We never waited very long for the bus and only having one bus stop was the best. Art of Animation is a great place to stay for larger families.
Our first visit to Disney's Vero Beach Resort; from the minute we drove up, It felt like Disney, the way they welcomed you, the look and feel, and it even smells like Disney . We had an ocean view it was beautiful, the grounds were nicely landscaped, and just like Disney World, you would see little bunnies all around. In the morning we walked on the beach, it was so peaceful; during the day you could rent lounge chairs and boogie boards, the waves were large enough to really enjoy them. The pool was fun, they had lots of activities for the kids, I even enjoyed the slide. We also rented bikes, I like riding in Florida no hills. We only stayed 2 nights, I wished it was longer, maybe next time.
This was a great trip! Just the girls! We started our trip during the Mickey's not so scarey Halloween party and then; with the magic of Disney, over night it was Christmas. The weather was perfect and the crowds were low, we enjoyed the free dining, Oh! it was delicious. This was our first time we attempted the Kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club Resort, we put a good dent in it. Best of all we avoided the Oct snow storm!!!
